A 63,000 SF classroom building is the cornerstone for the first phase of the university’s master expansion plan. The Institute for Collaborative Education is a partnership between West Aurora School District 129 and Aurora University. Eight classrooms provide for approximately 200 fourth and fifth graders from two school districts at the new facility.

It also houses the University’s School of Education, other community-based institutions, computer labs, offices, and a 500-seat auditorium.

The new behavioral health hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, is a conversion of a two-story, 50,400 SF office building and a one-story, 33,373 SF addition to create a new 120-bed behavioral health hospital. The facility will provide inpatient care to adults and seniors, and the beds will be split into four units that house the necessary support services. The facility will treat adults with substance use, mood and thought disorders, and geriatric patients with mental illness and mild to moderate dementia, including Alzheimer鈥檚 disease.

The HonorHealth Medical Campus at Pima Center is the future of healthcare. It is a fully integrated wellness center that brings together outpatient services alongside fitness, nutrition and other preventive health services to provide whole patient services to the greater Salt River Valley community. Patients, providers and employers are able to interact in an ecosystem designed to keep people healthy and keep the cost of care low 鈥� all in the pursuit of Healthy Living.

The approximately 100,000 SF ambulatory building features services provided by HonorHealth including primary care, urgent care, imaging, physical therapy, sports medicine, bariatrics and other preventive services. It will be co-located and integrated alongside a membership-based medical fitness center that includes a fitness floor, free weights, cardio machines, aquatics center, gymnasium and a running track. By bringing these services under one roof, the campus will create an environment that is a touchpoint for the community to improve and maintain their overall health.

海角社区 was introduced to Intuitive Health through mutual relationships with University of Florida Health and came together to help expand Intuitive Health鈥檚 Legacy ER presence in North Texas. 海角社区 has been working with Intuitive Health to develop a 11,200 SF Emergency Department and Urgent Care Facility in Prosper, TX. 海角社区 was brought on board for the project in August 2022 and the project broke ground in May 2023.

海角社区 and Intuitive Health/Legacy ER worked together to establish a joint venture ownership structure to support this project as part of a long-term partnership. The flexibility of parties to work together to establish a financing structure that meets the needs of Intuitive鈥檚 short and long-term goals of the project and partnership have paved the way for this project to be a major success.

海角社区 recently completed the Bell Children鈥檚 Garden at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. This unique project developed roughly 2.5 acres to create unique learning spaces to connect children and nature through play. The space includes five treehouses, a splashpad, an amphitheater, lodge, and other play areas where kids and families can interact with oversized creatures and plant life.

The Botanical Gardens’ saw a need and opportunity to further develop and expand the existing play area. To make this a reality, 海角社区 worked with SmithGroup through a collaborative preconstruction effort to help estimate, plan and drive the scope to meet the established budget.

The Skywalk Building for Children鈥檚 Wisconsin Milwaukee Hospital is a two-story, 155,000 SF building which houses the Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center (EDTC), a pediatric and neonatal transport center, and a retail pharmacy. It includes shelled space for future development.

The space was designed to help families access the EDTC more quickly and easily in times of need, with its relocation to the front of the hospital. By expanding its treatment spaces by more than a dozen rooms, the Children’s Wisconsin EDTC can serve more kids, expand services and deepen its focus on mental and behavioral health needs.

The City of Appleton was looking to reenergize the community and a key step in doing so is to expand the services of the Appleton Public Library. The city engaged architect Skidmore, Owings & Merrill of Chicago to create a new library 鈥� one that is welcoming, inspiring, and comfortable. The design integrates daylight and nature, including more spaces for children and teen services and community meeting rooms, in addition to improved spaces for the existing services.

海角社区 was selected in 2021 to review the design and bring it into budget, and ultimately construct the new library. Evaluating the proposed design was done through a series of community input sessions and 海角社区鈥檚 Target Value Design to ensure the project will meet the needs of the community in a financially responsible way.

With the full team working together, the project was reimagined from its original design to provide flexible spaces to meet the community鈥檚 growing needs.

As an integral part of the Sturgeon Bay community for decades, the Door County YMCA 鈥� Sturgeon Bay Program Center has seen steady membership growth in recent years, especially among the aging community population looking to stay healthy and active. To help meet the increased demand, the Door County YMCA engaged 海角社区 to construct a two-story Wellness Center addition and renovate numerous spaces within the existing facility.  

The expanded and renovated Program Center includes indoor exercise rooms, second-floor cardio track, activity rooms, an outdoor classroom, turf field for the children鈥檚 programming, family locker room, sauna, and a new lounge / reception area with a Door County stone fireplace.  

Through careful coordination of activities, 海角社区 was able to keep the YMCA operational for members throughout the project. 海角社区 and key YMCA leaders met on a weekly and monthly basis to collaboratively balance construction production with impact minimization to the YMCA鈥檚 members.

The Raw Sugar Dock Project upgraded the unloading process to accommodate the self-unloading vessels that use C&H Sugar鈥檚 dock. The arrangement of the new unloading process includes four new mobile hoppers, which feed the new 鈥淎鈥� conveyor that runs approximately 500 feet to new bucket elevators, which in turn feeds a new transfer conveyor to the existing scale house.

The hopper assemblies, including all structural steel, stairs and guardrail, maintenance platforms, mechanical, and electrical equipment, were assembled off site. 海角社区 self-performed the steel, stairs, guardrail, and maintenance platforms. The hopper assembly was performed at the CS Marine site eight miles away. This project was completed in phases to allow dock operations to continue with minimal impact to production capacity. The project also included setting and unloading a hopper on barge transportation to the dock location.

海角社区 recently completed the new 32,000 SF, Door County Medical Center Sister Bay Clinic and Rehab. This new facility provides opportunities for improved care thanks to increased space, allowing for more providers and staff to treat patients. In the second-floor Rehab department, Occupational and Speech therapies now have dedicated treatment spaces to improve privacy and care. Rehab patients enjoy an enlarged gym, with new equipment, as well as additional therapy rooms to allow for flexible programming. The space includes exam rooms, a physical therapy, and a large outdoor deck spanning the western face of the building.

The new sister Bay Clinic is a visual landmark leaving an impression on those passing by with its striking roof line, while also creating a positive impact on the wellbeing of the community. 海角社区 oversaw the construction process and self-performed the concrete, steel, and finish carpentry packages. Our hands-on approach ensured a smooth and successful project completion process, increased quality control, and provided a collaborative team environment.
